Winkel Kerkstraat ’s-Hertogenbosch

Corner building has a refined round corner

By removing an unattractive façade from this retail building, a municipal monument, its original appeal has been restored and it is once again part of the historical streetscape of Den Bosch.

The characteristic façade of this shop had been hidden for years behind an unattractive canopy, which split the front in two. There was also not much left of the original slenderness of the frames. The canopy is gone and been replaced by a transparent, finely detailed shop front with a hard stone plinth that determines the look of the city centre of Den Bosch. The former broad wooden posts made way for a sleek profile with steel frames. The final capstone was restoring the round glass.
